Description
Pumpkin seed oil – the fitness booster
The pumpkin seed oil is thick, dark green and has a nutty aroma reminiscent of fresh bread crust with a toasted note. Kernel oil has an intense but delicate flavor.
The oil is characterized by its many valuable fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamins, which have an extremely health-promoting effect. Scientific studies prove that the ingredients delta-7 setrin and phytosterol beta-sitorsterol contained in pumpkin seed oil can have a positive effect on the male prostate.
Regular consumption of pumpkin seed oil can also have a positive effect on conditions such as arthritis, allergies and diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
Production of pumpkin seed oil:
The pumpkin – a berry, by the way – is harvested mechanically in the fall. The kernels are washed, gently dried at 50° C and then stored in a dry place. The kernels are ground with a stone mill and pressed.
Use:
In the kitchen, it is mainly used for salads and cold dishes, but is increasingly finding its way into hot dishes (soups, purees), which are refined with the seed oil.
Note:
Pumpkin seed oil is not suitable for frying, as it must be heated above approx. 100°C. The typical nutty taste is lost and bitter substances can develop.

The right storage:
For a long shelf life, please store the seed oil in a dark place, ideally at 8 – 12 degrees. Allow to reach room temperature before first use so that the unique aroma can develop properly.
